This event began as a modest notion with limited goals, but there was always a great potential. In this world of rapidly changing political and economic happenings, in 1999 this competition also made changes. The Folklorama International Soccer Tournament grew and evolved into what we have today...The Golden Boy International Soccer Tournament, one of the most prestigious youth soccer tournaments in this country. In its rich history, the GBIST has hosted a great number of teams from across Canada, all parts of the United States, Mexico, Taiwan, Republic of China, as well as Hungary. This event has always been known to have an international flavor, and of course, a high caliber of soccer competition. Tournament ranging from 6 -15 years old boys and girls, Recreational, Developmental and Premier levels. This year we developing a two tier level play for all age groups over 10 years old. We have grown our tournament with the younger age groups developing a great relationship with them and now they are development and premiere players. We have now grown from U6-U12 to now U6-U15. We have one of best facilities in Manitoba that can support a large tournament of this magnitude with success. Within a 1 1/2 mile area we have 18 soccer fields. We are growing with 4 more large fields and night games under the Lights.
